Born in Chicago and raised in Italy, Arianna Dotto gave her first solo recital at age 12.
She has since performed as a soloist in prestigious venues in Europe and the USA, including Carnegie “Weill” Recital Hall, with the SOAI Orchestra of Japan at the Sala Verdi (Milan) and the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne at the BCV Concert Hall (Lausanne).
An avid chamber musician, she pursued her studies with the Artemis Quartett at the UDK in Berlin and won several international awards as a founding member of the Lyskamm Quartett.
A passionate pedagogue, she served as the doctoral assistant of David Halen’s studio at the University of Michigan, and has regularly given masterclasses throughout Europe.
Arianna recorded the original solo violin soundtrack for the movie “I Cento Chiodi” by Ermanno Olmi, and has performed on RadioClassica and the Swiss radio RTS on several occasions.
Interviews with her have appeared on Amadeus Magazine, La Repubblica, and Wall Street International Magazine. Her interview for WSI appears in the book “Milano è Donna”, a collection celebrating noteworthy contemporary women of Milanese origins.
She was awarded first prizes at the LMM Young Artist Award for Strings, the “Vittorio Veneto” competition, the "Luigi Nono", the "Guido Papini", the "Rosetum" international competitions, and was a laureate and prize winner of the "Bruno Zanella", "Kloster Schöntal Wettbewerb", "Concours international de Violin d’Avignon", “Vittorio Gui”, and "Città di Pinerolo” competitions. She also took part in the prestigious ARD Competition (Munich), Bartok World Competition (Budapest), and the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis.
Having completed her Praktikum at the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zürich in 2015, she worked with several orchestras as tutti and section leader.
After obtaining her Master’s at the HEMU Lausanne with Pavel Vernikov, she continued her studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Maestro Jaime Laredo, and holds a Doctorate from the University of Michigan, where she was mentored by Maestro David Halen (Concertmaster, St. Louis Symphony).
International summer courses include Keshet Eilon, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Verbier Festival Masterclasses, and others. She has participated in masterclasses with renowned artists such as S. Mintz, K. Wegrzyn, E. Grach, I. Handel, S. Accardo, G. Pauk, J. Rachlin, M. Sirbu, I. Rashkovsky, Mirò Quartet, Juilliard Quartet, G. Schulz.
